Did you know that individuals in treatment for substance use disorders have extraordinarily higher rates of tobacco-related health problems than the general population.
Research indicates that integrating tobacco cessation treatment into the treatment of other substance use disorders helps clients and improves treatment outcomes. A meta-analysis of 18 studies found that treating the tobacco use of individuals in treatment for other substance use disorders improved outcomes by an average of 25 percent. (Prochaska et al, 2006)
